Earn D$30 at Check-In & D$50 per Stay with GHA Discovery

Key takeaway

Unlock up to D$80 in bonuses on your next Minor Hotels stay—because every adventure deserves a little extra magic!

Highlights

  • GHA Discovery introduces two Minor Hotels promotions: D$30 for first eligible stay and D$50 for two nights or more.
  • Registration for D$30 runs from October 8 to December 7, 2026; for D$50 from September 24 to November 30, 2026.
  • Both promotions expire by January 31, 2027, requiring check-in or check-out by this date, respectively.
  • Earned bonuses must be used within one month (D$30) or six months (D$50) from issuance.
  • Combining the two promotions can yield up to D$80 in bonuses for a two-night stay.

GHA Discovery has added a second Minor Hotels promotion alongside the one that’s already running. Your first eligible stay now earns D$30 at check-in, and every eligible stay of two nights or more still earns a flat D$50, on top of the Discovery Dollars you’d normally earn.

Each offer needs its own registration. For the D$30, register and book between October 8 and December 7, 2026, and for the D$50, between September 24 and November 30, 2026.

Both run until January 31, 2027. You need to check in by then for the D$30 and check out by then for the D$50, which is long enough to cover a fall trip, the holidays, or a January escape somewhere warm.

If you’ve got an Anantara, Avani, or NH stay anywhere on the horizon, it’s worth registering for both now. On an affordable hotel, D$80 can cover a surprising share of the room rate.

What Is GHA Discovery?

GHA Discovery is the loyalty program of Global Hotel Alliance, a network of over 40 independent hotel brands operating in 100+ countries. Minor Hotels is one of the largest groups within the alliance, with brands like Anantara, Avani, NH Hotels & Resorts, Oaks, and Tivoli.

Members earn Discovery Dollars (D$) instead of traditional points. D$ are a cash-equivalent currency redeemable for room nights, dining, spa treatments, and other on-property extras, and each D$ is worth exactly $1 (USD).

Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok is one of the many Avani properties across Thailand that qualify for the promotion.

GHA is calling this one the Minor Hotels Mega Reward. Once you’ve registered, each completed stay of at least two consecutive nights at a participating property earns D$50 in Promotional D$, credited after checkout.

Participating brands: Anantara, Avani, NH Hotels, NH Collection, nhow, iStay, Colbert Collection, Oaks, and Tivoli.

The terms don’t cap how many stays can earn the bonus. They do close the obvious loopholes, though. Back-to-back stays at the same hotel count as one stay, a booking with multiple rooms counts once, and overlapping stays only earn the bonus on one of them.

Key dates and conditions

  • Registration and booking window: September 24 – November 30, 2026. You must register before you book, and bookings made before September 24 don’t count
  • Eligible stay period: September 24, 2026 – January 31, 2027. You must check out by January 31, so a stay that runs past it earns nothing
  • Booking channels: the GHA Discovery app or website, the Minor brand websites (minorhotels.com, anantara.com, avanihotels.com, nh-hotels.com, tivolihotels.com, and oakshotels.com), or directly with the hotel
  • Ineligible rates: Expedia, Booking.com, and other online travel agencies, plus tour operator, corporate, wholesale, travel-industry, and complimentary rates
  • Promotional D$ expiry: six months from issuance, so plan a future GHA stay to use them

How the D$30 Check-In Bonus Works

GHA is calling the newer offer Rewarding Escapes. Once you’ve registered, your first eligible stay at a participating property earns D$30 in Promotional D$ as soon as you check in.

There’s no minimum length of stay, so a single night counts. You can put the D$30 toward your bill at checkout for that same stay, and if you don’t, it expires one month after it’s issued.

Participating brands: Anantara, Avani, NH Hotels, NH Collection, nhow, iStay, Colbert Collection, and Tivoli. Oaks isn’t part of this one, even though it counts for the D$50.

Key dates and conditions

  • Registration and booking window: October 8 – December 7, 2026. You must register before you book, and bookings made before October 8 don’t count
  • Eligible stay period: check in between October 8, 2026 and January 31, 2027
  • One stay per member: only your first eligible stay after registering earns the D$30, and a booking with several rooms counts as one stay
  • Booking channels: the GHA Discovery app or website, the Minor brand websites (minorhotels.com, anantara.com, avanihotels.com, nh-hotels.com, and tivolihotels.com), or directly with the hotel
  • Ineligible rates: Expedia, Booking.com, and other online travel agencies, plus tour operator, corporate, wholesale, travel-industry, airline crew, complimentary, and other discounted rates
  • Promotional D$ expiry: one month from issuance if you don’t use it at checkout

Example: Two Nights at Avani+ Koh Lanta

Here’s how the bonuses play out on a real booking. When I priced two nights at Avani+ Koh Lanta Krabi Resort from October 20 to 22, 2026 on the GHA Discovery website in September, they came to $51 (USD) per night at the member rate before taxes, or $102 (USD) for the stay.

An Avani Room at Avani+ Koh Lanta prices from $51 (USD) per night at the member rate for October 20–22, 2026.

At that price, the D$50 bonus alone is worth almost half of what you’d pay for the room. If it’s also your first stay since registering for the D$30, the two Minor Hotels bonuses come to D$80.

Add your base D$, which ranges from 4% for Silver to 7% for Titanium members, and you’re looking at roughly D$83 to D$87 back on a $102 (USD) stay. It lands at the lower end if you spend the D$30 at checkout, since the part of a bill paid with D$ doesn’t earn base D$.

There’s a bonus on top of the bonus, too. If this is your first Avani stay of 2026, the same two nights should also qualify for GHA’s Scavenger Hunt, which pays another D$50 for a two-night stay at any brand you haven’t used yet this year. Since the stay checks out on October 22, it lands inside that promotion’s October 31 deadline.

That would bring the bonuses to D$130 on a $102 (USD) stay, more than the room itself. The completed stay also earns five entries into the Scavenger Hunt draw, plus one more just for registering, where ten members will win D$5,000 and ten will win Lifetime Titanium status when GHA draws winners by December 7, 2026.

The flat bonuses do all the heavy lifting on cheaper hotels like this. At a pricier Anantara resort, D$80 is a pleasant top-up rather than the reason to book, but the D$50 still adds up across a multi-stop trip.

To collect both Minor Hotels bonuses on the same stay, register for each one and book between October 8 and November 30, 2026, when both booking windows are open. A booking made after November 30 can still earn the D$30, but not the D$50.

The Scavenger Hunt runs until October 31, 2026 and needs a third registration. Stays at a Minor brand you’ve already used this year won’t earn its D$50, but they still count for the Minor Hotels bonuses.

All three sets of terms say the offers can’t be combined with other promotions unless explicitly stated. In my experience, though, GHA promotions like these have stacked before, so I’d register for all three and let the D$ post. I wouldn’t count any of the extra bonuses as guaranteed until they show up in your account.

GHA Discovery also pays an extra D$5 per stay when you book through its mobile app. It’s small, but it stacks with the Minor Hotels bonuses and costs nothing, so there’s no reason not to book through the app if you can.

That brings the Koh Lanta example to D$135 in bonuses if everything pays out, before your base D$.

Which Credit Card Should You Use?

Since your stay will likely be charged in a foreign currency, pay with a card that charges no foreign transaction fees and earns well on travel.

The Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card earns 3 Scene+ points per dollar on travel with no foreign transaction fees, making it a strong pick. Otherwise, the Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite +* Card and the Scotiabank Gold American Express® Card both offer the same no-FX benefit.

One thing to keep in mind is that you don’t earn any D$ on the portion of a stay paid with Discovery Dollars. If you’re sitting on D$ from this promotion or from buying D$ at a discount, plan to use them on a separate stay from your promotional ones.

Conclusion

Between the two Minor Hotels offers, a single two-night stay can now earn D$80 in bonuses, with no minimum spend and no stated limit on how many stays earn the D$50. It works best at affordable Avani and NH properties, where the bonuses cover a big chunk of the bill.

If I had a Thailand trip coming up this fall, I’d register for all three promotions, book a two-night stay at a Minor brand I haven’t used this year through the GHA app, and check out before October 31. Otherwise, I’d book by November 30 to lock in both Minor Hotels bonuses, then slot the stay into a winter getaway before January 31.
